Common Errors In Vegetarian Diet

Vegetarian food that includes all types of plant and dairy foods can provide the body with all the nutrients it needs - vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins and carbohydrates.
By proper vegetarian menu you can live many years with energy and health. An example is the Bulgarian people before 1920. The food of the Bulgarians in those days was basically vegetarian. People have been eating mostly fruits, vegetables, cereals (millet, corn grits, corn, barley, oats, rye), legumes (beans, lentils), butter and rarely milk consumption. Once or twice a year meat was consumed.

Today there is a serious and steady tendency, mainly amongst young people, to switch to a vegetarian diet. Often, however, mistakes are made in the selection, preparation, combining and eating vegetarian food.

Inappropriate selection of vegetarian food

Vegetarians often reach for ready-to-cook and refined foods that contain baking powder, stabilizers, additives and preservatives.

Two basic and useful tips from the team of Vita Rama to help you when choosing a vegetarian diet:

·         Always check the contents of what you are buying.

·         If possible, buy ecologically pure, organic or certified quality products - best directly from the manufacturer.

Heat treatment through frying

Fried food - both vegetarian and non-vegetarian in refined oil is extremely harmful to the body. During heat treatment at high temperature complex structures foreign to the body are formed in the food. These structures are not absorbed and accumulate as toxins in the body, which impedes cellular metabolism.

Some helpful tips from the team of Vita Rama for food preparation:

·         It is best to add the oil always in the end of cooking, by using organic cold pressed oils and cooking vegetable oils.

·         It is recommended that vegetables are steamed and legumens pre-soaked and then cooked without oil.

Combination of incompatible foods

Combining dairy products with carbohydrate food such as rice, potatoes, beans and legumes is unhealthy for the body. The explanation comes from the way in which our organism is organized. Proteins begin to decompose in the stomach and carbohydrates - in the mouth, by continuing degradation in the duodenum. When proteins and carbohydrates are mixed in one meal, digestion is hindered . Food remains for a long time in the gastrointestinal tract and ferments. It sticks to the walls of the intestines, fecal stones and plugs are formed, which are among the main causes of symptoms such as cough, runny nose, diarrhea, constipation and resulting in more complex diseases .

Some helpful tips from the team of Vita Rama:

• Take dairy products alone or in combination with leafy vegetables.

• Carbohydrate foods (grains, legumes, potatoes, rice) are best combined with root vegetables like carrot, beetroot, cabbage.

Consuming bread with yeast

Bread yeast comprises of artificially created thermophilic yeast, which cannot be found in nature. They cannot be destroyed neither in the cooking process, nor in the course of consumption by the saliva and the gastric juices in the body. Thermophilic yeast produce toxic substances of low molecular weight that destroy poorly protected and sensitive cells. This leads to several negative effects in our body :

• Suppressing the formation of good intestinal flora.

• Develops dysbacteriosis .

• Hinders the formation of vitamin B12 in the body.

Ultimately produces different anemic conditions of the body.

Risky eating habits

·        eating fruit during or after meals. Fruits are the most easily digestible food and quickly pass through the gastrointestinal tract. When consumed during or after a meal, they ferment and decay in the body.

·        Drinking fluids with meals dilutes digestive juices and delays digestion.

·        Overeating and excessive consumption of sugary foods leads to accumulation of toxins and the formation of bacteria in the body.

Often a combination of several or all of the most common mistakes of vegetarians leads to various deficiencies and dystrophies in the body.

By conforming to the above basic rules for healthy vegetarian meal you will be blessed with health, happiness and longevity.
