Interview of Vita Rama with Stela Hristova - presenter and stylist in studio "Female beauty in Indian culture "
1. What is beauty toyou?
I'm trying to give a meaningof the idea of beauty, inspired by the wisdom and power of the East. Beauty as an outward expression of the inner state of mind. Divine thread that penetrates our existence. Our human nature reveals several layers: body, mind and soul - from mortal to eternal. Nowadays, we are attacked by "marketing beauty" setting on a pedestalthephysical aspect. In most of us, it creates a feeling of inadequacy, frustration and unattainability. The truth is that each of us is unique and matchlessspersonality, and the wellspring of beauty emanates from the depths of the heart.
2. What her clothing says about a woman?
In the traditional culture of India, clothes, jewelry, hairstyle, ornaments, makeupandthe overall vision of the woman reveal much about her. The appearance suggests from what regionshe comes, what she does for a living, is she married, is shewealthy andwhat religion she professes. If we learn to readthese signs, we can go into more depth in the worldview of the Indians and to develop the necessary respect for their culture.
3.What can her clothing make for a woman?
Clothing can highlight the most beautiful in us or make us look in the mirror with disgust. Marketing beauty is overwhelming us with fashion designed for a specific type of physical constitution. Something is alwayslackingin order to achieve the ideal. Age, size ,our financial possibilities - there are so many restrictions that make choosing a dress almost mission impossible. Western fashion focuses on the limitations, eastern on our values .
Indian sarigives a unique message to femininity. Exquisite draperies are worn by5 to 105 yearsold, from XS to XXL, by rich and poor, highlighting the most beautiful in every woman.
4 . What is the relationship between beauty and health?
Beauty is often perceived one-sided within visual perception. The form that we see is not the only characteristic of beauty. In the ancient Indian culturethe beauty is considered as aharmonious unity between the physical, emotional and spiritual nature. The beautiful woman hasrich spiritual life, balanced emotionsanddeveloped qualities of character. Her visible beauty is the result of good physical health and appropriate daily care. The beautiful woman is first and foremost a healthy woman that radiatesenergy, optimism and spiritual strength.
5 .What is the spiritual message of clothes, makeup and accessories ?
I mentioned earlier that theoutsideappearanceis the business card of the Indianlady.
In the traditional vision of the woman we can find many elements that possess sacred and esoteric character. Each representative of the fair sex is considered a particleof Goddess Lakshmi- the primordial feminine energy, the mother of the universe , the wife of Lord Vishnu, the energy of creation and compassion. Clothes, various attributes and elements of makeup are inspired by the image of the Goddess. A simple example is the red white bracelets that married women in India wear. The white bracelet is made from conchshell, the red onefrom a special resin. Lord Vishnu always holds conchshellin Hishandtherefore thewhite bracelet is a symbol of masculinity. Red bracelet is a symbol of the feminineaspect. Wearing these bracelets is an expression of loyalty and love .
6. Your advice forharmony and happiness?
